Jacob and Erica Zerger

Sensing God's call on their lives, Jacob and Erica developed a heart for cross-cultural ministry at a young age. Jacob's experience serving on short-term mission teams in Peru and Mexico in high school, along with living in Europe for a year, gave him a passion for God's work among the nations. In pursuing further education in missions, Jacob received a bachelor's degree in Intercultural Studies from Calvary Bible College. For Erica, God used trips to Ireland and Zambia to increase her desire to serve the Lord overseas. This experience abroad, along with Erica's bachelor's degree in Missions from Barclay College, helped prepare her to serve cross-culturally. Shortly after Jacob's graduation in 2013, the Zergers were appointed by an international mission organization to serve Arabs in the Middle East. Through living in the Middle East, Jacob and Erica learned firsthand about the many challenges and struggles that missionaries face when crossing cultures.

Having returned to the United States in 2018 due to health and family needs, the Lord gave Jacob a vision for serving missionaries through counseling. He began work as a substance use counselor at a local community mental health center while pursuing a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University. After Jacob graduated with his degree in 2022, Jacob and Erica joined the One Another team.

As part of the team, both of them find it a privilege to assist in bringing healing to missionaries. Jacob's goal is to bring the grace and peace of Christ into his interactions with individuals who desire healing. He enjoys providing a safe space for counselees to process the burdens of their past, along with their current struggles. Erica's gifts include encouragement, hospitality, administration, and service. Both Jacob and Erica desire to share and show the love of Christ in their relationships and ministry.

Jacob and Erica are blessed with three children, Jeremiah, Hope, and Jonah, who are all homeschooled. The Zergers bring an awareness of both the difficulties and joys of raising a family in a cross-cultural setting. As a couple, Jacob and Erica are thankful for the way in which the Lord has continued to grow and shape their family for His glory.

In his free time, Jacob enjoys following Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, reading, and spending time with family. Erica enjoys exploring the outdoors, reading, and watching cooking shows.
